How do you find the Rokinon/Samyang 35? I love my 50 and wonder if the 35 is a bit too close.

I NEVER use my 50 anymore haha, if you look on my website at my Fashion - Location portfolio, all but 2 or 3 images in there were shot with the 35 1.4, it's a pain in the ass manually focusing and can limit you but I got an LCD-VF which helps a lot. I got the 85 because the 35 and 50 are too close and the 35 definitely wins in the optical quality department, so unless im in studio im always on the 35... that being said im sure the 85 will be as good or better than the 50 in studio as well!

My first (of three ;) ) 55-250 IS. Paid near the full MSRP for it when it just came out. Still think it was worth every penny. The other two were both bought for around $140.

Looking back through the photos it took, this was one great portrait lens for the money.

If I find a decent shape copy below $150 I may get it to complement the Tammy. While Tammy is a bit sharper, has faster focus, longer reach, and even better VC, the Canon is much lighter / more portable, and produces more pleasing bokeh (to my eye, at least). With some luck I can have both for less than the price of a second hand 70-200/4 non-IS.

Doesn't look like a 55-250 IS to me. That is what most people label as one of the worst lenses that Canon has ever made 75-300 f/4-5.6. I had one - paid too much - hardly used it and sold it for a big loss.

Canon 7D, 50D, 40D, 20D and T3, Σ EX 10-20 f/4-5.6, 17-40 F/4L, Σ EX 18-50 f/2.8, 18-55 IS, 70-200 F/4L, Σ EX 30 f/1.4, 40 f/2.8 STM, 60 2.8 Macro, 85 f/1.8, 1.4x II, 430EXII
And a Canon Rebel S II & 35-80 f/4-5.6 USM

:o Woops... The wrong photo ! Nice catch though !

The funny part is, I don't even remember having that lens. Although it's definitely my desk under it.. Must've been one of the lenses I borrowed - the photo is at least 4-5 years old.

Well, this one is definitely mine. Served exceptionally well for over 3 years before I replaced it with Sigma.

And this is my last 55-250IS. Should've kept it.
