In all honesty, the 135L didn't impress me that much, that old beat up lens almost 20 years its elder was indistinguishable wide open to the 135L stopped down to 2.8

And all this about L build quality, and it's plastic on the outside anyway, the poor thing would never be able to achieve the same character as the drainpipe.

Wow, your drainpipe is seriously beat up! When I had mine, I was lucky enough to find one that had been babied. Mine lives on with another POTN member. This was mine:

Technically, it was!

I had it mounted to one of those little table-top tripods and photo-shopped it out of the picture in post to give it that effect! ;)
