I barely managed to refrain myself from posting the exact same words when I first saw the photo :D

My 5d2 is on the way. Maybe next week ...
As far as the 14 2.8 mk2 is concerned , I'm agonizing over this lens. I have the 16-35 mk2, already, which gets part of the job done, but I hate the soft edges on full frame, and I'm sure the 5d2 will be more challenging on the lens. On the other hand I'm saving for the 200 2 IS (: I'm really not sure if the 14 2.8 mk2 will be worth it ...

I agonized over the 14L for a while too. I had, and was pretty happy with, a 16-35 MKII as well, but once I bought the 14L, I decided to let the 16-35 go. The 14L is really an excellent lens, less distortion and sharper in the corners than the 16-35. That, and it's smaller and built very well. Very happy with mine so far.

Thank you for sharing that. I will probably end up with the 14 mk2 , 24 mk2, and the 35 1.4 which I already own in that FL area. And I will see if I can survive without the convenience of the zoom.

Here's the Canon EF 35-135mm f/4-5.6 USM lens. This was Canon's first lens with rear focusing. It had full time manual focus and the front element didn't rotate or extend on focusing either. Focusing is fast and silent. It also has an aspherical element.

This was the precursor to the 28-135 IS lens. However this one is lighter, smaller, cheaper and uses less expensive 58mm filters. Often this one was referred to as the "vacation lens". Canon also made a limited edition platinum coloured version of this lens.

Interestingly the EW-62 hood seems to be exactly identical to the ES-62 hood used with the 50mm f/1.8 II lens except that it doesn't come with the 62-L adapter. If you are using a crop factor camera the ET-62 II hood works great and is a lot deeper. The ET-62 hood also fits but won't clip on reversed due to a slight difference in shape at the bottom.

What hood is that? Does it work well on the 1D?

Looks like the EW-83J. Should work fine. I use one (slightly modifed) on my 17-35 all the time. No vignetting even at 17mm.

Its the hood for the 24-105. It works very well. I had a cheap one from ebay when I had my 17-40.
