In another thread someone posted that lenses that won't work on Canon TCs will work on third party TCs so I bought this one on eBay for about $30 less than a new one:

Sure enough, it works on most of my lenses including the 35-350L. Since I've used my Canon 1.4x TC mostly with the 70-200mm f/4 IS I decided to try it out with the Tamron TC. This was shot with the 1D Mark IV at 200mm, f/4, 1/25, ISO 6400 and the IS was turned off on the lens. This was shot handheld. This image is directly from the camera with no editing, simply resized and compressed in Irfanview.
