I have been wanting to know how to do just this for a while now. Im not sure what to call it so i really have no way to search for a way to do it.

I want to learn how to make a sort of vignette (for lack of a better word) with blurring.

Could i possibly ask how you did this?

I REALLY like this image!

looks like NG7 beat me to it... that's a very good tutorial. also, i've had goos success with this. its pretty basic, but its easy to use and works pretty well: http://tiltshiftmaker.com/ (external link)

Thanks guys!!

I cant wait to try this!!

The second picture of this effect on the previous page is just perfect! My girlfriend and I were actually saying to each other, "wow! it looks like a model of some sort" before i even knew that there was a technique with this as the intended outcome. Very nice work!

MC- there are actually expensive tilt-shift lenses that are mainly used for architectural and landscape photography to do some complicated things with persepctive but since all I'm interested in doing with them is that model effect, I just use the fake processing techniques.

dangyoo & savageajc- thanks guys!

I have never considered Surf/W12st. deserving of being photographed. However, the bars on the boardwalk have been evicted, so get your last shots before they are torn down.
