I shot this eagle on Veterans Day and I think the look depicts the fearless attitude and sacrifice that our soldiers give us every day on the front lines of the 'war on terror'.

Nice shot -- unusual -- looks like a big pine cone with a eagles head on it. Was he shaking out his feathers -- or what gave him/her the "fluffed -out" look?

I can assure you that this eagle and any eagle that I shoot is totally wild. He had just brought in a stick for the nest. After spending five minutes placing it in just the right spot, he jumped up about a foot above the nest on the trimmed stump and shook his feathers out. I love it when this happens as you can often get unique shots.

Thanks again for all the kind words regarding this image. I spend allot of time under and around eagle nests for a shot like this.
