Any chance of a specific flower section?

It's the only forum thats really lacking at POTN.

Advocates of Fashion, Underwater, IR, Night Photography and Wide-angle photography, to name a few other "specific" sections that have been suggested, might disagree with your assessment. I'll tell you what we told them: you need to demonstrate that there's enough demand for a separate Flowers forum before it will be considered. That's how Birds and Pets got moved out of Wildlife, and how Motorsports was separated from Transportation.

Sorry but I disagree with you.

Flora is something that's been a steadfast of photography since it's inception.

Point of fact is that POTN is one of the few photography forums that doesn't have a specific Flora section. Do people take photos of flowers? I think you'd know the answer to that. Would a Flora section be popular? No prize for saying Yes.

Am I going to lobby for one? No

I'm just a member with a suggestion to make the forum just that little bit better for the end user.

You do what you feel best with the suggestion. It is after all a Feedback Section.

Its not about how long people have been taking pics of flowers. It about how many want to post, and share them NOW, and on this forum. There is just not enough that do to have its own section. Im sure there will be a small dedicated crowd. But not enought to build a new section then moderate it. I would say a "night" section would have 20-30X the number of active menbers, but it does not have its own section either.

It could also be labeled, "Botanical." Flowers are definitely a top photographic subject from what I've observed here, there, and everywhere.

And your suggestion has been noted for future revision of the forum structure.

But it is how Jon explained and we won't se any change of forum structure until after Pekka has completed the new forum software.
