Hi everyone I have a very confusing question. Is there a way to make a "Flash" based cd without them physically downloading JPEG images off the CD.

Like lets say you go to lightroom and you have 10 files. With those 10 files you go click the web button and make a Simpleviewer gallery. And it will export to HTML. Well I know if you do that and burn it to a CD you have to keep the JPEG files with it together in the index file.

Is there a way to just make a straight gallery to a CD where they can click on there images without being able to print HQ or what not from the JPEGS?

I don't know if any programs like adobe air has something or what?

Yes, its possible.

Integrating jpg files into flash is entirely possible on both Mac and Windows, though i remember MACS hating Flash for some reason ? ? ? ?

I'm not sure what to recommend though, as i usually go out of my way to specifically let my clients have access to the normal jpg files.

When you make the normal galleries out of LR, it generally exports a smaller set of jpgs, so if your gallery was set to display at 400x600 pixels, thats what the jpgs will be and you can easily have them, or batch them, to 70dpi so that printing isn't possible.

I just use Emotion media, it costs a little but you can make that up in prints.

If someone can see something, they can copy it and print it. If you don't want people to do that don't give them the image in any format on any media.

I don't understand the logic behind it. Who paid you to take the shots? I've never understood the obsession with keeping images to yourself when other people paid you to create them. What are you going to do with them? Hand them up around your own house? They only have value to your customer.

Compromise with them. Give them digital files and get paid for it. Consumers aren't stupid, they know that Digital Photography is nothing like the film days.

Just my 2¢.

So you traded. They worked for free, you worked for free, but you want to control the result?

I mean they will have the CD or files for themselves. I will also have a site devoted for printing as well.

Well, FileMaker has a cross-platform developer app you can use to create clickable applications with embedded images, but seriously, if they worked for free so you could both have shots just share the files with them. It's better than finding they took a picture of your print and used it as their FaceBook profile pic. (true story.)
