I have just taken this picture (Southern Spain) - poor quality I know, but is anyone able to identify what birds these are please? - they appeared as a pink mass to the naked eye.

They look like Greater Flamingos to me. They are fairly widespread in Southren France & Spain.

Thanks for that Richard!

I was thinking they may have been Flamingos but not being that knowledgeable on birds was not certain. It's amazing how they were there one second then (The sun was highlighting them at one point) in a flash they had disappeared completely.
