I was given a discount of 40% off for a lens on CANON Online Store, so from looking at the prices I came up with below, which one do you think I should get? (aka. which is the best deal)
I choose refurbished because the price is better and I'm cool with refurbished:

I already have the 10-20 so I can pass on 10-22. the 70-200 2.8 would be a nice upgrade from my f4, but the 100IS macro is so nice too. wonder how fast is the AF for portrait..
In case I can get it applied on the 70-200 2.8 IS, it's gonna be pretty cheap but I can't afford it. perhaps buy it, sell on POTN and get something else :D

Thanks for reading :)

Is the 40% coupon for anything? Pick up the 800mm, sell it for a bit under 10k and pocket the 4K or buy a bunch of other lenses. :)

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

The 100 Marco IS is a great lens but for pure portraiture, I would go with a 70-200 2.8 IS. With the Marco you have to set the limit for fast focus with subjects like a person. Can't go worth with that price? How did you get 40% off?

Given your current lineup, I guess I'd say get the 24-105 or upgrade your 100mm to the IS version. Unless you're really feeling the need for the extra stop on the 70-200.

Screaming good deal; the rest of us are jealous! :)

A friend of mine sent the 24-105 in for repair and canon messed it up. After a month of arguing they gives him 40% discount on the new 24-105.

He doesn't want it so I can use the discount. Just called in and was confirmed I can use it on the 100mm, but I'm not sure about the 70-200 IS since it's much more expensive than the 24-105.

What would you use the 100mm L for the most?

If you buy the 70-200 2.8 IS you will be able to sell your f4 version.

I'm looking for a lens for portrait, but I also shoot macro on the side.
If I get the 100L I can use it for both
100 non-L and 70-200IS would be awesome but they costs so much money :(

How about: sell 70-200F4, buy f/2.8IS, trade for 2.8 non-IS + cash :D would that be more cost-effective than buying the 70-200 2.8 straight out?

Holy smoke. If I were you, I will pick up the 70-200 F2.8 IS II. The more expensive it is, the more you save. And I am sure if you don't like it, you can sell it and make money :) You know this thing is selling for $2200, right? If you post like $1900, it is almost guarantee it will be sold very fast. Then you almost can get your 100L for FREE!!!

Too bad it's not on the list.
