This guy run by me about 6 feet away when I was takeing photos of it with its mother, through the lens it look as if it was going to run up my leg.

Likely because black bears have a habit of mauling folks that are between them and their cub(s), even when that person isn't actively DOING anything but standing there. :p

Hope you got some decent pics with the mom/cub combo out of the experience, too.

You're lucky you didn't get your head chopped off. How close/far were you actually from the momma bear and cub before the cub charged by you?

Hi there I was about 20 to 25 feet from mum and the cub passed by me at about 6 feet.
The most dangerest Animal in Scotland I have seen is the next door neighbours dog.:eek:

But there is a fine line between brave and stupid. All in the name of Photography.

Scots tourist totally unaware of the danger...

Cool shot, looks like a cub of the year maybe and that is a pretty light colored black bear, very interesting.
