I don't own a 7D but just saw this 1.2.3 update on Canon USA and Japan sites with 11/25/10 listed.
http://web.canon.jp …irm-e/eos7d/firmware.html (external link)

It's also showing a 1.0.9 update for the T2i with the same date.

Is this old or new ?

Looks like it fixes a problem with the flashes.

Firmware version 1.2.3 incorporates the following fixes.
1. Fixes a phenomenon in which the settings of the
Speedlite Transmitter ST-E2 revert to the default settings
when both the camera and the ST-E2 are set to auto power off.
2. Fixes a phenomenon in which the Macro Ring Lite
(MR-14EX, MT-24EX) and slave flashes do not sync
while shooting wirelessly.

I don't have any of the flashes mentioned in the firmware update notes, but I installed the update anyway. As expected, I don't see any difference in camera performance.
