Both are interesting but the first one gets my attention. Great use of DOF with a repeatable pattern, nice placement of the in focus barb. Part of the sky is blown out and that could be corrected to match the rest of the atmospheric.There is some room to muck with PP too.

Yeah first one is much nicer. I think the second would look better with a vertical crop. Nice work!

The first ticks a load of boxes and is a fine example of what makes for a successful shot. The second one although in nice light is just a little too small and looks at first glance as if the pole is rising from the sea.
