Hey guys,

Looking into buying a factory-refurbed canon body ... my question(s) is the following.

Will I still get the full one year warranty. It'll come un-opened, etc from B&H. I know B&H will give me a short warranty, but will it still have a canon one as well?

Thanks!

2X Canon 1Dx|Canon 1D Mark IV|Canon 5D Mark III|14mm 2.8L II|16-35mm 2.8L II|24mm 1.4L II|35mm 1.4L|50mm 1.2L |85mm 1.2L II|70-200 2.8L IS|200mm 2.0L IS|300mm 2.8L IS|400mm 2.8L IS|800mm 5.6L IS| 580EX II| 600EX RT II|

Don't hold me to it.... I think if you buy a refurbished Canon from B&H, it's covered under B&H's warranty whatever the terms are, etc..

If you buy from Canon (refurbished) carries a 90 day. Use the CLP trade in many posts here on that, receive a discount of the refurnished price.

Nikon D4, Sony RX10, Sony RX100.
Past Gear: (most recently) 5D3, L's, etc.

Sounds right to me.

I bought a factory refurb from Adorama sometime back and noticed a focus issue and I dropped it off at my local Canon Service Center (about 4 miles from my house) and was told as long as it has the round gold refurb sticker on the bottom indicating it was refurbed through them they will warranty it.
Dropped it off one day and picked it up the next.. Outstanding service...

You could always buy an extended warranty though B&H or whatever..

I believe Adorama give you a 1 year warranty, same as Canon's. Not sure about B&H.

There is no risk at all buying a refurb from Adorama. They warranty for a year and back it up with action. I bought a refurbed 5DMII last year and it went black on me after 5 months. Adorama replaced it no question within days. Over the top customer service!

Hey, Helen. I forgot about you. Thanks for the link to this page.

I'll have to check out your prices and refurbs. In fact, I'll go there right now.....

Back from Adorama: Sorry, Canon Direct has you guys beat by thirty bucks on refurbed T2i and the same price for the kit new.

Thank you. bw!

And the warranty? 12 months or 90 days?

I personally would rather pay the extra $30 for the 9 months of extra warranty from Adorama. However, I have 2 factory refurbished Canon cameras (30D and 40D), neither of which has caused me a bit of trouble.

I like dealing with Adorama and have always been happy with their service.

Just to chime in, I got my 7D refurbished from Adorama and it is really perfect, I also enjoy the piece of mind of a full year warranty.

I got my 17-40L used from them, although there is no warranty, it was in excellent condition, exactly as described, and extremely sharp.

I would not hesitate to buy from Adorama used and DEFINITELY not hesitate refurbished!
