Hi there,
I have been using this forum quite a while and learned a hell of a lot over the last 2 years. I recently decided to sell my trusty Canon 450d (xsi) and upgrade. It has been a sturdy enough camera and after starting with the usual landscapes and HDR and family portraits, I stumbled in to music / band photography. In the last 7 months, I started by shooting my friends bands and it escalated to being invited on the main stage at Sonisphere UK as a guest of Skindred to shoot some promo stuff for them! I have now got my own Rock and Metal webzine - http://www.circlepit.tv (external link) and we are getting around 15,000 visitors on a daily basis.

Any way, long story short, I have just purchased the 60d and Im pretty damn excited as I feel that I know have enough knowledge to do the camera and my abilities justice. When I got the 450d, I knew nothing about photography, but the time came where I felt that I had reached a limit on it...(it also looked a bit silly with a 28-300mm (L) lens on it, but still produced some pretty decent shots!

So lets hope that the 60d is up to the hype. After many hours of research, I took the plunge and Im awaiting delivery....I have photoshoots lined up next weekend with various bands, Including Airbourne, Diamond Head and ex Iron Maiden frontman, Blaze Bayley...so lets hope its good!

Cheers

Don

HI Don,

Excellent decision, I picked up the 60D coming from a 400D and am 100% impressed and pleased, the size is perfect for me (I also got the grip) and the features make me wonder how i ever took a photo with my 400D already! The shutter sound should also make you warm and fuzzy on the inside!

Enjoy mate, and see ya in the 60D users Unite thread!

The 450d was my first dslr and then I got the 50D - took 2 days just to wipe the perma-grin off my face. An upgrade to an XXD body is exciting.

Enjoy yourself and say hello in the 60D thread and post your new stuff
 ;)
