Spent a very enjoyable morning at RAF Cottesmore and also managed to bag the x4 Harriers coming back from Ark Royal for the final time before the Harriers retirement.

Anyway here is my take on the mornings action!

Cheers

Gav

I don't think they're going to have anything on it at all. From what I've read they unloaded all weaponry in Scotland before visiting the Tyne earlier this week and are heading to Hamburg for a visit before returning to Portsmouth and staying there until there's a definite date for decommissioning.
There were two helicopters on deck when it was moored on the Tyne - along with these four Harriers - but I think they were just for people to look at during the visit.

Great captures, hope it doesn't turn out that the Government has shot itself in the foot with this decision.

Great series; I think #1's the real winner, though. I'd frame that one! :)

Great Series.

I admit I'm stunned that the Harrier is being taken off the line. I think our Marines would rebel if the USMC tried to do the same before the F-35 is proven to be up to the drill.

Jay I remember all the problems the Corps had when they first came into the fleet. The Marines are still flying CH-46s. My squadron at Cubi Point were still flying D models that were in Nam. The Corps is always the last to get an upgrade.

Excellent series. The first pic really turned out well.
