What exactly does CDI mean?

It means awesome photography! :D

Haha seriously though it doesn't really have a meaning anymore. It used to be an acronym for an older business.

I guess so, but you are still at the mercy of one persons vision.

Not really. You have your own idea of what you want in a logo, and the designer helps you get there. If a designer says you only get one shot at it, walk away and find someone else. The young lady who did mine made several revisions until I was thrilled with it.

Can you give me her contact info?

I don't have much of a vision, need to see a few examples first I think.

Sadly, she doesn't do it anymore, else I would.

Do some google searches for logo design, or branding design.

There are some websites where graphic designers put up examples of their work, and sometimes give away generic logo art and cool graphic symbols that you can use for free.

The advice of hiring a graphic designer, is a very good one. If you're serious about your photography, then you have to practice what you preach, and take your 'image' very seriously.

Your "edge" fonts are all very late 90s looking.

You were much better off with the original designs.

I like the first one... Photography needs to be condensed a little bit to fit underneath the top text.

It would work well for a sports\action related photography business and not much else IMO. What's the focus of your business?

Try incorporating an edge in there...edge of a knife as the backgound image maybe? Have the logo fade off into the background along the knife edge.

The only reason I like this one Better is because it's easier to read, But I don't like this either.

I went through the whole post your business card thread and a lot of the fonts I could not read.

What I like in logos is : readable , remember able , and colors.

what is your favorite color ?

+1.

None of those says "portrait photography". Consider hiring a graphic designer.

EDIT: Maybe it's just the name. Digital Edge just doesn't say 'portrait photography'.
