I think these logo contest websites are great I may have to use one my self or keep begging my friend to do them lol

They really are great. Only I and the designers can see the designs. I have them on my facebook in a special album. http://www.facebook.com …5841&fbid=148549678526511 (external link)

Get help from graphic design artists! I don't mean to bash. I do graphic design and there's too many things "wrong" with that logo. The best typography experts even think twice before using 2 fonts on the same logo. You picked 3 and they are all fighting. "Photography" is losing that fight big time. From choice of fonts to kerning (space between letters) to hierarchy between words, I find a lot of problems with the logo. Choose 1 font that has different weights and go for a cleaner look! You can still do a lot with 1 font and different weights.

Just trying to help!

Name is non-negotiable....domain purchased, etc. Just have to fine tune the logo, or by the comments here start over!

Appreciate everyone's continued comments.

Depending on where you live, if you are trying to create a legal business you will want to check to see if the name you want to register as a business is not taken or a similar registered name does not already exist by your State business registering department.

For instance I wanted to create the company name Hoy Photography; however, Hoy's Photography was already a registered business name in my State. I sent a letter of "approval" to the Hoy's Photography company to sign off on our business name being OK but they never returned the letter. So I had to choose another business name which as you can see from my signature is Photography by Hoy. And hoyphotography.com was available so only going by available domains as a way to see what companies are in business is not a good way to approach it.

Don't get the cart before the horse! Do your business homework before designing logos.

#5 nice and clean.

but lose that etc etc design thing. I can't even read it anyway to be honest.

PS: I just saw that u said people didn't like #5. If I'm remembering the initial designs #5 is light years ahead. But what do I know. I'm just a graphic designer :)

Number 3 looks the best, five is nice but the background writing throws everything off, four's font does not match the name.

The writing behind number 5 is the designers watermark, which will be removed in the final cut

Good. But also, I don't think you need all the gradient. Keep it simple man. Let type proportion and layout do the work. I would probably choose different fonts if it were me but if you like it I don't think there's a problem with it.
just my .02

I like one and five. The other three are nice, but to me the words digital edge demand a very clean streamlined look, something sharp. The second and third are to rounded to fit and the fourth has the torn edges to the letters, which puts me in mind of guns in a forest.

This is my camera, there are many like it, but this one is mine.
