This lens is more of a 'bragging rights' lens than anything else. I own the 1.2 and have borrowed one of these and didn't see much of a difference. Some claim it has better bokeh but I wasn't convinced.

who wants to spend $2000 plus for a broken lens that canon won't fix?

if it where one of the super tele's for that, i'd be all over it.
