Well I have been looking for a bag suitable to carry my Manffrotto 055XPROB and 498 head in for a while. Does anyone have much experience with the MBAG80PN?

I'm not sure if I need something padded or not? It will mainly be used from travelling place to place, and occasionally on a bit of a walk/trek. Whilst I am sure the quality is there £50 seems a bit expensive.

Thanks,

Matt

I just got one of those bags a few weeks ago. It seems to be very good quality construction. But I do find that the 'round' top of the bag is too big for a ball head. It's obviously a generic design so that it will accomodate larger photo or video heads.

I can fit both my 055 legs and a monopod in the bag. Despite the description on the B&H website, my bag doesnt have an internal pocket or any other carry handles other than the strap and one on the bottom. I didnt realise until I just looked at the tag inside but it is made by Kata.

As I said, good quality bag, but if youre looking to save, there are probably options that are just as good and cheaper like the bags for Slik tripods.

Matt,

I know exactly wht you mean, my Manfrotto bag is overkill and then some. I have read that fishing rod or shotgun bags are much cheaper and do the same job.

When I had a 055XPROB I bought one of those bags and brought it back in a few days. It seems to be designed for 3 way panning heads or trombones. A very awkward bag, imo.

I bought a Benro bag on Ebay which was perfect. I still have it, somewhere.

Bohdan - I may be, and probably am, completely wrong.

I had one back when I had my manfrotto setup and let me tell you its awesome and IMO well worth the money! Youre simply not going to find a better built and well padded tripod case for that setup! I got the Gitzo equivalent when I upgrade to a Gtizo setup and its every bit as nice.

Manfrotto makes smaller several bags for tripods, so if the MBAG80PN is to big, maybe the MBAG70N is a better fit ?

The model number tells you their length 80 cm vs 70 cm, same diameter.

There is also 100cm and 120cm.
