With all the local events now over for the season I thought it would be interesting to see everyone's favorites from the events they attended or just from your local club etc. To date these are my favorites, and each one was special because they capture exactly the scene I was after.

This scale helicopter has a rotor diameter of 10 feet, and just blew me away when I first saw it.

This is a scratch built Vickers FB-5 with a 12 foot wingspan, and at the time I took the photo it was in it's early test flight stages. Since then (using the builders web site) I see that he now has completed building a scale engine (radial), and scale machine gun, along with a scale pilot & gunner.

And this one just reflects a Canadian icon (I like it as is, but a tighter crop without some of the left side might be nicer, but for now I'll use the full frame).

And for those looking for more photos of the events I've covered I've put them into an R/C specific album set here.

I am an RC pilot. I use an RC plane to shoot aerial photographs. Generally speaking most RC aircraft and most especially scale aircraft need to fly pretty fast just to fly and this can make taking photographs of them in flight difficult. The smaller the plane the more difficult the shot also the larger the plane the BETTER the shot! LOL!! I am making a poor attempt to excuse my photographic skills.

The following is a C-17 being flown at Las Vegas during an event I attended this past October. First two shots are flight shots - not real close as the pilot was a little nervous and I had the kit lens! The last is for "scale".

Taken with a Canon XS using the kit 18-55mm lens. My hands were steady but my knees were knocking!

Here is a picture of it pre-flight to add "scale".

Very cool cicopo, especially the last one. A tight crop without the photographer in the foreground would be a sure winner.

Actually I really wanted a shot just like that, with someone for scale. There are more starting here (use the right arrow to advance through them.

I used to build & fly a long time ago, and have just started back into it. Things have really changed, to the point I'm doing an awful lot of reading just trying to get a handle on all the new terms such as Bind & Fly, Receiver ready etc. When I flew we built the radio & the planes, now I can buy really nice planes ready to fly. Luckily I still have 1 of my old never flown gliders, and one little aerobatic trainer that is almost finished left from the early 80's so by spring I'll have a fleet ready.

Love that Herc. Thanks for the contributions so far, but I really expected more interest considering the number of threads we've had on the different forms of R/C.

Harley, love that last heli shot, very nice angle. That's what I don't do very well and need to work on. I can take a sharp shot just like the next bloke, but I lack imagination

I'll be in this thread for sure, I have gazillions of RC plane shots. Bloody Flickr, when they did their changes a few months ago all my existing images loaded at the time went from 1024 to 640 max....anyway.

not my best shot, but it recently won me a 2 year subscription to RCM&E mag. First prize in their photo comp so I like it a lot!

I didn't take this shot, I was driving. The fella that took this is on here - screen name "Kit Lens".

30D, 100-400L. Truck is a GSSUTCE with a modded .27 that I did a while back. Monster is an understatement.
