I need to borrow that winch. I've got a virgin Grand Esprit that I built in the early 80's but never flew because I never got around to building a winch. not long after building the glider I moved to other interests. I'm almost finished building the Amigo II that has been sitting on a shelf all these years too, but I'm going to build an electric power pod for it.

Thanks everyone, hopefully more will join in.

Great capture on the boat flipping, was it OK or did water effect the radio / power plant?

At a large sod farm just east of Little Rock.

Have any pic's of that Grand Esprit? I'm a Dodgson Designs guy, but won this plane in a raffle so had to fly it. You can see my Windsong on the ground in the left lower part of that picture...

Any chance your looking to sell the Grand?

Here are a couple of my Dodgson Camano launching from a HD high start. The other is it coming in for a spot landing. Note the wing controls are in Crow (both flaps down, both ailerons up)

Here are a few I have captured over the years. Mostly done with a 50D and a 70-200 F4L. Just ordered a 100-400L to help with some reach issues I am having. I have rented the 100-400 a few times, on one occasion for the Red Bull Air Race in Monument Valley, and really found it to be a stellar "Airshow" lens.

Some great photos & obviously the lawn mowing heli & that last one shows there are some talented (and brave) pilots.

By tor, no I wouldn't sell the Grand Esprit for a couple of reasons, & the biggest one is the fact it's scratch built using a friends kit plans while he built the kit. That friend was my instructor, & he's long gone so this helps me remember him. I will however try to clean all the dust off of it & try to get some photos. I have bought all new electronics to replace the outdated Heathkit parts that were in it. The modern stuff is pretty light compared to my old gear. The Rx & servos for my Amigo II will weigh less than any of my old servos.

I am beginning to like this type of photograph.

IMAGE: http://www.bakehead.com/images/Mike_D_s/Mike_D_00002.jpg

As this gets everything I want to show into the photograph without any photoshopping! These are very difficult to get - right - and I admit I am a rank amateur at doing it. I do not do it the way some would and I do not retouch so these are just natural.

But these type are getting to be my favorites even though they are not what I think are my "best" photos they capture the Mountains in the background - clear and in focus, the airplane flying through the frame at speed, and the pilot in the foreground. I really like that I captured all these elements in one shot.
