Well, I'm not sure if they are my favorite or not, but here are three that I can put my hands on right now.

He also made an inverted pass almost that low, but I didn't catch it. :(

Nice pics pixelbasher! That Red Bull glider is very nice looking. I have some cheap RC helicopters but until I graduate and get a real job I can't risk buying any type of flying RC craft. Too much can go wrong and money can disappear faster than an extreme case of Lens Buying Addiction! Boats are relatively nice and safe haha.

Gary It looks like you posted right when I was in pack for vacation mode & I missed noticing the new photos until today but WOW on the WW2 bombers. It looks like the builder of the one you've captured from the side was very serious about scale, because I wouldn't know that as an R/C vs the real thing. I can see the gunners & pilot and it just looks oh so real.
Raylon, I like all 3 of those but the 3rd is very eye catching thanks to the trail of wake.
Pixelbasher, NICE, & that album was great. Never been to a slope soaring event but I've just finished converting 3 vintage gliders to electric power & will soon be using at least one of them plus an electric trainer to start back into the hobby. With good weather starting to arrive I'm getting anxious.

Thanks! That last one was actually taken with my old Canon A80. Great little camera it's getting repaired by Canon currently due to a bad sensor. Can't wait to get it back.

The amount of money people spend on scale R/C craft is unbelievable. A guy in my area was selling an F-4 I believe for upwards of 25k. Way too scary for me to even attempt to fly something like that.

It's big too! 4 meters of carbon and glass, weighs 13 KG completely scratch built. Funny thing is he actually sent an email to Redbull telling him he wanted to paint it in their colours.... This is not being used for anything but a hobby as this is what this guy does every weekend for fun, builds and flys. They sent back an email saying blah blah blah copyright, can't do it etc......

QUOTED IMAGE

Dang that is nice. I doubt Red Bull would pursue it any further. If anything it's good free advertisement for them. I know those gliders can get very large. Very pricey too.

yes they were just towing the company policy I'm sure. Very hard to get that metallic blue to come out right in the pics though.

Yes, even though this was handbuilt there is a ton of carbon in it and about a almost a grand in the electronics/ high power servos. The wing is so stiff and strong he can stand on it with the tips supported and it flexes about an inch.

I think he said it cost him about 2 and a half grand all up not including all the tooling for moulds etc.......plus the countless hours making the plugs, moulds, the finished moulding, cutting foam wing cores, vac bagging (in quad axial carbon) even the cost of paint and decals....no wonder his jeans look like they are about 20 years old......he could pass as a photographer!

My wife makes similar comments about a few of the local car builders (show cars). the cars are spotless, but all the dirt is on their ragged clothing.
