The regular prices are:
055XPROB = $180
498RC2 = $130

Dang! Good find I got mine not to long ago but with the quick disconnect.

Amazon usually comes with lower prices on the 055xprob. I searched and searched for a used one for a month and gave up and bought one form Amazon last month at 154$ ... Seller name : DBROTH

For those interested, I just checked and the price for the legs has increased to $160.88 and is now shipped by J&R.

BH is selling the legs and ball head for $159.09 and $105.95 w/ free s/h

ugh, i got these a full price. Oh well, when you need them, you need them.

I picked this combo up at BH for $260.85 shipped (498RC2 $105.95 / 055XPROB $154.90).

Usually the 498 is $130 new, and the 055XPROB is $180 new ($310).

There is also a $25 mail in rebate which would bring the total down to $235.85. However, I am not 100% sure this rebate works for this combo since on the rebate ad it says "aluminum video tripod system." On the form it asks for the tripod model and head model.

I just called BH and the person I talked to said I would need to call Manfrotto to be 100% sure. I did, but they are closed.
