As a post script, she is alive and cancer free today. 7 years. My mom and older sister have also had breast cancer and mastectomies, and are survivors as well. Walk a mile in their shoes, eh?

^Thanks for sharing your story Sue. I work in the hospital and observe cancer very often. It's not a pretty sight when you see someone passing away from it.

Thanks for sharing everyone.
Nice photos.

Cancer can be a horrible thing. I think that that shot is a wonderful expression of the effect that is can have and the battle scars that is can leave you with.

I was in Philly and there was this lady on the bench. She is homeless, Carries everything with her in those bags. She took off her worn out shoes to kick her feet up for a second. A moment of relief in a hard life

This was a shot of one of my best friends, Jay, at a bowl a thon for United Way sponsored by the company we work for (Wells Fargo). It's not the greatest shot. It's not the most technical or the best framed or anything that would make it stand out for anyone but me. He hated having his pic taken and I just happen to catch him in one shot.

That photo was taken on 5/16/10 and also happened to be that last photo ever taken of him as he passed away friday 5/28/10. This is my most impact filled shot by far. His parents/fiance used it at his funeral. Sometimes we're so critical about how "correct" a photo is from a techincal aspect that we forgot that even a simple snap shot can turn out to be the most meaningful.
