It's probably because you have them saved in adobe RGB instead of sRGB.

ahh how do i change that?

Ha, I was thinking the exact same thing! But you know no matter how many times you spend 10 minutes typing this out, there will be 20 more people using it incorrectly. Dont worry, I feel your pain. (As well as spelling errors. I mean, I understand some things and typos, but the misuse of the word "their, there, and they're is disgusting.)

On to the photos.

The detail shots turned out great, but when it comes to the people you can really tell your lack of experience. Especially in the first post. Her poses are awkward, she doesnt look comfortable, and some of them make her look extremely skinny (not in a good way). The second post is better (selective color aside).

I know you didnt ask for this, but Ill say my mind anyways. Shooting a cousin's wedding is one thing, especially if they are not SUPER close. But shooting your brother's wedding I would seriously reconsider. I have found that family (immediate family in particular) give me the most resistance when taking pictures. That, and you will be missing the wedding - and I would assume you would be in the bridal party - all seem like they arent great ideas. Second shoot for a few photographer, get to know them well, and give one of them the business. They will appreciate it which would hopefully make you more valuable, and you get to spend good quality time with your family.

Mate any C&C is a learning experience, im glad u said it. Im not to good with people as u can tell but im willing to learn, I can tell what u mean by looking skinny in some pics and i can see it now, doesn't help she is only 46kg and isn't really that short, My cousin is actually really close to me. Prob closer then my brother that ill be shooting. I won't be in the bridal party either. There wedding is over a yr away if not 2 so i got plenty of time to get some practice in and learn alot more, maybe go as a second shooter with a friend of mine. Thanks for the comment

I see nothing wrong with it if it still sells and the brides ask for it. I get asked for at least 2 selective coloring images in every wedding. I also get requests for the couple in wine glass image. That is dated also but if the bride and groom wants them then I'm more than happy to do it and they are more than happy to pay for them.

Im not a big fan either of the selective colour but thats what she wanted so she got them.

I handed the pics over to her yesterday and she was very happy with them. I told her to tell me the truth and she did.

The shots aren't as bad as some here are making out. It was your first go, compare your work to wedding photogs you admire and ask questions here. Just don't do anymore selective color!

He said it was his first wedding. All great exposures, you can improve on them a bit if you like. SOmeone did a good job adding more color, made that photograph pop!

I've see professional wedding photogs that don't show pictures as nice as these. If this is truly this person's first foray into wedding photography, I'd say they were a natural.

As for "more" DOF or "less" DOF here and there, that's merely a matter of opinion.

Excellent work, I'd hire you in a second...

My best advice would be to stay away from the little green square.

Except if it is asked for then you want to please your bosses, they hired you so you work for them..if they request it and you can do it then they deserve to have what they ask for.

I couldn't agree more...if this photog likes selective color and their clients do, then by all means do it with gusto. I think it's amazing work, and I did weddings for 5 years as a pro and have shot them since high school.

Little green square..look at the modes on your camera, it's also known as auto mode.

i dunno why its come up like that cause im 100% sure i didn't take one pic in auto mode, could that be from when ive quickly edited them in RAW and hit the auto button for exposure and stuff?

I think they are okay. Most would benefit from some DOF. I see you shot most (that I looked at) in auto and shooting with at LEAST aperture priority would allow you more DOF and a less snapshotty look overall. That would be my advice on what to work on before you try another wedding.

I'm going from this
