Finally got to play around with the PLM yesterday. Overall I really like the light coming out of it. It's exactly what I was looking for and is a nice mixture between super soft and hard light. I tried to use it in a few different ways so it might not be the best use for it on these shots but I've got a few other shoots lined up where I'm planning to use it again. As promised, here's a little BTS video showing the setup of this shoot and a small review of the PLM and the issue around the sag for those who are interested..

On to the pics! 2 so far with different setups obviously. This first one was set about 10-12' from her 45° CR.

The 2nd shot here I've been wanting to do for awhile but was waiting for the right look to do it with. I had the PLM CR 90° on the side of her and my MUAH holding a silver reflector just out of frame cl for a little bit of fill.

interesting Chris...thanks for sharing. I see now if I get a similar modifier like this ... I need a good size studio space to really control the modifier.

No problem! It's definitely harder to control in a tight space (at least the 86" version) but it's still a nice balance to it. It's going to take a couple more shoots to really get a feel for it though. Here's another look we did of her that was military/militia inspired.

Nice! Pretty much the meanest setup I've ever seen haha. You're like the MacGyver of the photo world. Here's a simple headshot from last night.
