I get request from agencies and models for 9 x 12 prints ever since I started shooting professionally for modelling portfolio building.

here's a good explanation from a veteran photographer.

"The reason for the 9x12 size is so that it fits all tear sheets. Many European magazines and some higher end U.S. pubs print in 9x12. Smaller magazines are still 8.5 x 11 (or a quarter inch smaller depending on how they are printed and cut) and therefore 8x10 books are useless.

9x12 is also the aspect ratio of most professional cameras these days (8x12 for 35mm)"

I will be purchasing some AB lighting VERY SOON. Just waiting on student discount verification approval by Paul Buff's staff.

Ni$mo and everyone else, what type of stand/boom arm is that? All Paul Buff has is the mini-boom arm which isn't very useful. Would you recommend a specific type? I will be attaching a B1600 light + large octabox + vagabond mini.

Gear List (5D3, 70-200 f2.8L IS II, Sigma 85mm f1.4, Sigma 35mm f1.4, 50 f1.8, 24-105L, Alien Bee lights, etc etc)
