Alien Bees Users Check In (2)

If I am gonna be triggering 2 alien bees and eventually I may slave in Speed lites, what are the best wireless units to get?!

As I recommended in my previous post, cactus v5 triggers are great! They can trigger anything that has a trigger port. I forgot the size exactly, but it's basically regular stereo headset plugs. Some speedlites have these ports, some don't. I know alien bees have this port though. Speedlites can also attach to the triggers via hotshoe as the top of the trigger has a hotshoe similar to a camera with a hotshoe on top of it.

When I'm shooting events, I have a cactus trigger sitting on my camera's hotshoe. Then I have my speedlite sitting on top of that trigger. That way, I can use my speedlite for walkaround use, and also trigger my other speedlites/bees around the building to brighten up the ambient lighting.

Checking in...however, I haven't fired my ABs in anger yet. Einsteins with VMLs on CyberCommander. Also bought the white 22" beauty dish and the 86" PLM. Bought 2 32x48 folding softboxes on ebay rather than on PCB's website. Much cheaper yet still good quality.

Maybe it's just me and my sick/perverted mind... but whenever there's a photo with a girl with legs open and crotch area showing, my eyes go to it immediately.

Will it be worth to buy an alien bee off eBay or just buy it from paulcbuff? I was thinking more of the warranty just didn't know if it was worth the gamble.

Buff has a flat rate repair charge for ABs if I remember correctly.
I bought my first Bees via forum for sale posts. Never had a problem.
I bought my Einsteins from Buff. In both cases any repair work has been done quickly and inexpensively.

That's what the crop tool in Lightroom and/or Photoshop is for, to get rid of extraneous or offending parts of an image.

oh... ok ok good. i mean, not good for you, but good for me because I was worried I was extremely perverted staring at the crotch area for a good hour. i mean... at first glance.

... i definitely don't stare at girl's privates for that long.... majority of the time... okay I tend to do it a lot.

Right at the top of the water bottle nipple. which is just a bit higher than the suggested top of running shorts.
If you get low enough so the shadow shows, then you have the problem of the shadow implying that maybe she is pantless.
