It is quite difficult to keep up with all of the wonderful talents in this thread...

When I received my very first strobe, E640 V1, back in July, Alyssa came over and helped me with the new light.

okay 5 - lights (1 AB1600(BD) and 4 AB800)
1- background light -bare
2 - kickers behind w/40 deg grids high camera left and right
BD w/ 30 deg grid (key) high camera right and STU low camera left (fill and catchlight)
I usually start less lights then as the shoot progress... I add lights...sometimes I end up using 6 lights LOL.

lookin' to use a colored gel with my AB800 for the first time.

for those of you who's used it, can you give me an insight of what gel you used and how you applied it on the bee. is it as simple as taping it to the reflector?

dude when you buy the alien bee brand new it came with a clip with a double sided tape. You stick those clips on the reflector and just clip your gel on it.

So much great talent in these two threads....

Starting to use my bees more. This wasn't exactly what I was shooting for but I think it came out okay.

2 AB800's, one left and one right - both reflected off of white poster board.

This would have been better if she parted her hair the other way so 90% of her face is well lit.
