Correct me if I'm mistaken, but in the past I have searched Amazon.com for YN gear and found next to nothing.

It looks like US based resellers are stocking up on the gear and selling through Amazon, which means a few things:

1) Slightly higher costs
2) significantly faster shipping

Its not hard to mentally add to that list either.

If I'm just slow as Christmas and this is old news . . . sorry!

Wow, the prices have really gone up through Amazon & U.S. retailers.

Its $13 more for an RF602 Receiver on Amazon than on eBay. I guess one has to weigh the price versus faster shipping time and better return policy/service? I've yet to have any of my Yongnuo stuff break on me, but I would imagine it would be a pain to ship it back to China and then wait 2-3 weeks for them to ship back a replacement.

I had 2 yn462's break on me in a week, less than a week old. Spent hours on flickr groups looking at different fixes and none of them did it. Check there and you'll see just how many break. Glad you haven't had any issues though!

But your flashes were "modded" ?
I've been using YN460's for over a year without problems

yes

and

and it isn't a biased sample estimate, plenty of people here bought more than 1 and had about a 50% fail rate. Anyways, going to avoid modding the new ones and hope for the better. A two solder point mono input was not likely what made these fail as they worked fine for 100-200 pops before they just stopped.
