I hate to do this, but the local television station is having a "best of" contest. I realize that it boils down to who can get the most people to vote and i also realize that doesn't mean you are the best, but i really would like to win!

So.....if you wouldn't mind....please vote for me:

Thanks everyone, i really appreciate it! I am still in first place, but it seems like the other photographers are pulling all their online resources....it will be a tight finish!

This is the problem with these types of contests, contestants go to all of their online sources and asks for votes. Imo, it sort of taints the results as those with the widest range of friends and contacts wins. Your work is great.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

I agree. These contests have nothing to do with being the "best" photo. They have everything to do with having the most "friends".

I also think it is audacious to ask for a vote. Rather inform people about the contest and let them vote for their favourite.

Yes it does equate who has the most friends, i agree. But it is good for marketing. The guy who is in first place asked people to use multiple emails to vote more than once. It's going to be tough for me to beat that, as I will not ask that.

Sorry if you think it's audacious.

pretty much spam votes from same people. Anyone could make 100+ emails just for voting and it ruins the point. Unless the admin filter votes by IP address.
