i like wheel poke myself, a low shot showing how the wheel extends past the fender wheel all the while the puts the background out of focus-bokeh !

I like most anything that hasn't been shot using a fisheye lens

when you're taking photos for retailing cars it's a bit different as arty or different just doesn't work. There are about 12 standard angles for every car and usually a 60/40 rule applies - 60% front and 40% side or vice versa (although as RedStar says each has it's own best viewpoint). It's all rather tedious though but has to be done that way. There is also a certaim height at which to take shots - about 5'8" in fact as it's been measured!

I personally believe it all depends on the look you are going for. Certain cars will give off a certain feeling from a certain angle. I think the only way to correctly answer the question about a specific angle is if we were all shooting the same car :)

Shooting from anything lower than parallel to the lowest line of the car (ie side skirts or whatever) will make the "wheel gap" and/or "ground clearance" look bigger than it actually is. Great for trucks, not great for sports cars. Shooting something special under the car is cool, but that's not really a picture of "the car" IMO, more a picture of whatever it's a picture of (exhaust, suspension, whatever)

Sorry, I should have put a smilie on there... I was joking as you'd been run over by the car and got shots of the undercarriage as it went by. (I was half expecting to come back in here and see photos of undercarriages, LOL)
