There are about 12 standard angles for every car and usually a 60/40 rule applies - 60% front and 40% side or vice versa (although as RedStar says each has it's own best viewpoint). It's all rather tedious though but has to be done that way. There is also a certaim height at which to take shots - about 5'8" in fact as it's been measured!

Great for trucks, not great for sports cars. I was joking as you'd been run over by the car and got shots of the undercarriage as it went by. (I was half expecting to come back in here and see photos of undercarriages, LOL)
