Shot these today at an abandoned house here in London, Ontario. Kind of creepy as there were fresh mens footprints not more than a couple of hours old (thanks Mantracker!). Wished I had someone with me, but did manage to get these couple of shots.

C&C always welcome...
Al

Lovin' that 1st one....the 2nd has major ghosting in the trees but academic cause the weeds in foreground hide the house.....not so interesting.
I like #3 also - maybe boost local contrast a bit

This house seems familiar to me, Al. Where in London is it?

Thanks for the comments.

The house is at 21211 Rebecca Road.

There is lots of abandoned buildings and ghost towns in Ontario listed here...

I really like the 1st one. The depth of field looks shallow to me on the last one.

Cheers... jim

First one is great. 2nd does not have an interesting subject to focus on. I also like the third but agree that a deeper DOF would help. Otherwise, nice work.

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but you probably shouldn't link to super huge PNG files - when I opened the couch one in PS, it was a 16bit PNG - the exif reader I have says the image is 3.5 MB.

Post or link to JPEGs, sized per the forum rules and your posts will load much faster.

Really good photos, I especially like the first one

.... blames the idealistic society we live in, a society that demands perfection however, the concept of perfection is fundamentally flawed. Once perfection is reached it is no longer perfect, since a new standard is created based on an "improved vision" of the original perfection. This creates a infinite cycle which inevitably leaves to disappointment.

Sorry about the large file sizes.

I just changed the links to much smaller JPG files.

I am using Photoshop Elements 4, and the Save JPG option is JPG 2000 and .jpg extension isn't there. Wasn't sure if that would work or not. I used Paintbrush 5 to re-save the images to .JPG format.

With the 2nd image, I really liked how the weeds turned out. If I were to go back and do it again, I would try to shoot them without the house in the background.

Al
