Hi,

My plan is to acquire a microscope to shoot video and do some photography on small objects / creatures.

Coming from astrophotography, I know that the ideal instrument does not exist, that the compromise will be expensive anyway, and that I'll want to change it in a very short time. However, in order to make the first choice as intelligent as I can, I come to you macro gurus for enlightenment.

I was wondering if the same instrument can show details on a fly, random things living in my toilet (yumm) and various ponds, the structure of a hair, etc. I suspect all these fall in the same size category (roughly), as opposed to red blood cells (much smaller?) and skin cells and the such.

My budget is pretty variable, only I'd like to skip the "first-instrument-throw-away-in-3-months" step.

thanks

definitely go for a trinocular where the third port is for attaching a camera. Canonloader has several threads relating to his experience with microscope photography.
