I can't imagine why my sister keeps buying them digital camera they don't take care of. Oh, and these are teenagers, not 9 year olds! Don't spend more than you are ok throwing out the window

They have had a name brand camera deal for under $80 every day this week, but they usually sell out. You might also check out the refurb selection at Adorama. They had a lot of Nikons last time I looked that were $200-400 just a couple years ago and are now $75-100. Taylor

At least in our area. sctbiggs wrote in post #11369640 Thoughts needed... I'm aware most people on here won't have a clue what to recommend just as I don't, but I am looking for a decent camera for a 9 year old. He has a little crappo camera that his grandmother got him for a few bucks but it sucks horribly. Now, I'm not looking for some high quality stuff here, just something he can use to take decent pictures with that is basic and kid friendly. The one he has is made for kids but the quality is worse than the first cell phone cameras. He mostly takes pictures of us, his friends and his toys... he tried to take photos at disney world this past week but none of them turned out even remotely viewable. and yes... i know how to use google. Just curious if anybody here has any kids that they have gotten a good little camera for. Thanks A whole box of point and shoots, EOS 30D, EF 20-35 f/3.5-4.5, 50mm f/1.8, Super Tak 135, 70-200 f/4 L

He beats the heck out of it and it still works fine, the best part is they can swim with them and have fun in the water with it breaking.

I've used one for years, my dad got it when it came out. Has full manual mode and everything too, so good to learn on. "Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were. She just got runner up in a state-wide photo competition. We do a lot of wilderness photography, and she takes outstanding care of the camera and lens. She's six ![]()
