Caught two westbounds on the Needles Sub. First one was passing a high rail truck near Cadiz, CA while the second was passing East Goffs.

That westbound was moving at 65 mph! The truck didn't keep up, but it didn't stop either. It had crossed the grade crossing at Cadiz by the time the rear end passed me.

Can't tell you how many times I have done that trip! Needles to Barstow and return. Probably thousands! Cadiz to Parker too before (and once after) the branch was "sold".

Been all over that territory.

Anyone wanting to race a train better understand that they better win by a large margin - because if the just tie - they die.

No race going on here. The high rail truck had its own track, but it didn't stop when the train passed it, something that would have been required on my old railroad but must not be in the GCOR. A local was stopped at Cadiz, probably to interchange with the Arizona and California Railroad.

I've flown over some of that area and there isn't much beyond dirt and more dirt.

Bet the solitude is nice. Good job of train trackin' !

Nice catch on what's left of that warbonnet (2nd pic). I also like all those GEVOs in your first shot.
