Im really contemplating selling my canon 15-85mm IS, although it seems to have served me quite well, i dont really use it at the wide end as i use my 10-22mm for all my landscape shots, but i do find it to be to slow for me and like doing night shots!

Should i sell this lens and pick up a canon 24L Mk 1 and a Sigma 85mm f/1.4?

If you prefer primes that is a good way to go. You'd have 24,50,85. Which is a good setup. If you don't intend to go FF anytime soon, you might consider the sigma 30 1.4 instead of the 24. It is a fantastic lens at a fraction of the price, and it is a little farther from your 10-22.

Another route would be to upgrade to a faster zoom ie. Canon 17-55 2.8 IS or Tamron 17-50 2.8 VC

if you already have the 10-22 i dont think the 15-85 is worth it. Isn't the sigma 85mm pretty expensive? how much do u use the 85mm focal length? i think its pretty long on a crop and dont use it much, but you might use it a lot.

personally, i think the price difference between 24L I and II isn't too huge, unless you find a really good deal on the mk1. i haven't seen it under 1000-1100 before, while the II is only about 400 dollars more and supposedly much better.

i would rather get the 24L II and canon 85/1.8, should be about the same price as the mk1 and sigma 85. but thats only cuz i kno i'll use the 24 focal length more than 85 .

Well i can get the 24L for about £600 UK, and the 85mm for £609, so thats not a bad price for the both.

If you feel like that primes could deliver you more. Get the primes. You won't regret it.

I got to use the 24L as a tester and did some evening street shots and fell in love, and after doing a few weddings in the summer, i got some great shots but felt just a tad restricted with what i have!
