Galah in a pose I didn't expect.
If any Aussies Can ID the second bird I'd be pleased, the only thing I could find that was anything like it was a Grey Whistler but I'm not at all sure.

What is that first image of? I can't make it out. Is it a bird that slammed into a tree? It looks like a blob to me.

The first one is of a Galah which has been nesting, just come out of the hollow and has her head on the side. I shouldn't have posted it if that's how it looks to others.

I think the second is a female golden whistler.

I shouldn't have posted it if that's how it looks to others

Us Aussies know what it is though :-) !

Looks to me like Galah is having a nice little strech, as common as they are I never tire of seeing them. I just think they are a beautiful bird, I was watching a nesting pair for a short while just yesterday. I'll second what Steve said about the other, looks to me like a female Golden Whistler also but I'm not certain. Only other bird that comes to mind it may be is a female Gilberts whistler.

Cheers Wayne :D

Thanks for the input. I'll check out the Whistlers in the books again.
