Does anyone else find it odd you are one click away from erasing the whole card? I was the token photographer at a function the other day and I had taken a few photos of a girlfriend of mine. She was looking at them on the camera and did not like one of them. Before I stopped her she was one-click away for erasing all the pictures.

Now, I do not (usually) let folks hold my camera but I would think Canon would at least thrown in a "Are you sure you want to delete ALL images?" prompt.

Convenient but still...

I think there is a confirmation prompt that asks you if you want to erase all images to which you can reply "Cancel" or "OK".

My Drebel has an "are you sure?" when deleting the entire card, but not when you want to delete one image. They assume that a user of a dSLR knows what they are doing.

Debian Dog - If she had erased all of your images it was still possible to get them back with recovery sofware.
If you had not recorded some other pictures on the same card.

Not an issue with me either, as my 300D gives me two alternatives, one being "Cancel" and the other being "OK." No more likely to accidentally erase all the images than to have accidentally opened the back of a camera with a film in. At least with a card it is possible to retrieve erased images using software, as long as the card hasn't been reformatted.

Well true

Trash -> Erase
vs
Trash -> Erase -> All -> Erase All Images

I guess there is an extra (2) steps in there. Best just to hold on to my camera I think :)

No, not just an extra two steps. You actually have to switch the cursor over to the "OK" button and then select it to erase all the images. I doubt one can "accidentally" erase all the images without really meaning to do so unless one is really absent minded. :)
