Great butterfly shots! What was your working distance with that setup? Also, was that all natural light?

Just another day at the track for me yesterday. This young man had a minor crash and was nice enough to do it right in front of me. He was not hurt and was back racing later in the day.

Whole sequence of 15 shots here: http://www.flickr.com …47088485/with/5568296292/ (external link)

Images are straight from the camera.

Nice shots all. I talked about the butterfly pavilion yesterday... I just couldn't remember when it was going on at DBG. I might have to swing down there for a shoot.

Nice series, Dean. I'll bet that looked interesting from his helmet cam. :lol:

Bless the recently fallen and their family and friends.
I have a Cannon with me at all times. You can't take the shot if you don't have something with which to shoot. :rolleyes:

Thanks! Mmmm, it depends on how many tubes are stacked on. With 68mm of extension, my approx distances were...

70mm = a couple of inches away
140mm = about 6 inches
200mm = about 12 inches

Kinda a trial an error thing. I found 140mm with 68mm extension was the farthest I could get with my 430EXii set at full blast. Here's a pic of my ghetto rig with my nifty fifty. You can imagine how ginormous a 70-200 with all three tubes would be!

I remember the lady there saying that it ends on or around Mother's Day. Go git some!

They are all nice, but this one is a winner for me.

Can't you just picture Frank looking at the LCD after shooting this and yelling "Winning!" in his best Charlie Sheen voice.
