Wow a lot of nice work on here these days!

I picked up my 5D Mk III yesterday. Quite nice. I'll have to play with it some this weedend.

He's ALIVE!! Hey Terry... nice to hear from you... Are you in Africa? Definitely report back on the camera. I'm so curious to hear what you think of it. I'm jealous of that focusing system.... lol..

I just bought the PDF version a couple of weeks ago.... should've waited... oh well.

Not sure if still available but I thought I would post just in case...

"This afternoon, we sold the 1,000th copy of our book, “Wild in Arizona: Photographing Arizona’s Wildflowers, A Guide to When, Where, and How!”
To thank you and celebrate, we’re giving away 100 FREE copies of our eBook (the high resolution PDF version, a $12.95 value). Just go to http://www.wildinarizona.com/order.html (external link), click “Add to Cart” for Option #3, and enter the discount code WIA1000100 in the shopping cart. Please feel free to share with friends and family…but get your copy first!"

Its a nice book, the pdf version looks great on the Ipad!

Bob

Thanks for sharing the link... I tried it yesterday, but the discount code wouldn't work for me... :( darn... I remember seeing the authors doing a book table at Tempe Camera a couple months ago... looks like an awesome book to have for reference and inspiration.

Very cool butterfly shots and the hummingbird photo is my favorite.

I never made it to DBG for the butterfly exhibit. Ryan, it runs thru May 13th so still plenty of time.

The wife and I drove out to Goldfield Ghost Town on Saturday for the afternoon. Here are some pics...

Is this the one in Jerome? Either way, nice shots! Looks like you had a great day out.. The man in #3 looks very familiar to me....

Hello all it's been a while since i've posted! I bought a Jeep and have been super busy working on it and going wheeling on the weekends. I have lots of great photos i need to post up from my adventures. The wild flowers are sure out in full bloom right now. I'll be heading back out on another trip this Saturday so i'll be sure to take lots of photos while i'm out. IT should be pretty crazy out there. Hope all is well!

Where'd you see flowers? I'm dying to get out and shoot some..... :D

Nice shots at DBG Kenny.... I need to make a trip over there sooner or later.. I keep thinking Boyce Thompson Arboreturm would have some pretty things to photograph right now too..... just don't feel like making the drive out. :p

Hi Kristy. Yeah, still alive and working too many hours. I've been back and forth to Africa quite a bit. Got some great work done in Botswana recently and headed to Bora Bora on May 4th to do some shooting.
I have looked in once in a while and love the work you and the guys have been doing. I'll play with the MkIII some this weekend and report back. It resembles my 7D(which I love) on steroids. Has a much improved menu which even has an info selection to tell you what each menu item does before setting it. Low light focus is nothing short of amazing. ISO6400 images are very good and even 25kISO cleaned up with NIK software is usable for print. A little grainy with a film like look.
I'll try to get back here more often.

Kristy, this is over near the Superstitions right outside of Apache Junction. I thought the #3 guy looked familiar as well but I think he just has one of those faces. He was one of the cowboys working the town. They stage a shootout a few times a day.

Terry, congrats on the new camera!

Bob! thank you, the code worked for me and I'm currently downloading it, unfortunately I'm at starbucks so this might take awhile...sorry to the people around even though they can't read this...

Anyways, Terry, I am jealous you got the mk3. I still have yet to upgrade from my 1dmk2 but I'm too set on trying to pay off this debt of mine. anyways, enough distraction, i need to finish this paper! have a great weekend everyone!

Doesn't Boyce Thompson have some sort of butterfly or moth exhibit? Also it is a little bit of a ride but Tucson Botanical Gardens has a Tropical Butterfly exhibit. http://www.tucsonbotanical.org/events/butterfly-magic/ (external link)

I was just out by Boyce Thompson yesterday, i drove by it on the way to Hackberry Creek and the place was packed, hardly a place to park at 10am. I still have yet to visit there.

Nice to see ya... Next time you peek in, post some of your Africa shots.. I bet you got lots of really awesome stuff to share. :)

Congrats on the camera.. love your description of it being a 7D on sterioids.... made me laugh... always good to get a late night laugh. Low light focus must be awesome to have.. really looks like a great system. :) Share some pics when you have time. :)

The man with a familiar face... lol.. Maybe he hangs out at the old mine in Jerome too...?

You should stop in sometime. It's worth the visit, and I bet at this time of year there are lots of flowers blooming somewhere. We took a group trip down there a couple years back.. Everyone had a good time, and we all came home with some fun photos. :)

On the way home saw some poppies blooming on the South Exposure of Salt River Canyon, stopped and the entire hillside was covered, but my legs were shot

I'm looking at getting a 5d mkiii and want to sell off some equipment to fund it.

I have no desire to deal with shipping at this point as I'm in no hurry, but what really blows is that I can't post the items in this thread. Too bad.

Also, is this a good resource for basing prices off of?

Thanks..

I saw some houses with some cool flowers...but I don't think they'd appreciate it.

Anyone have any suggestions for something to do in Seattle for about a day? I'm going to some convention with some students as a chaperone, we have free time on a Thursday before the convention officially starts at like 6-7pm.
