I like 2 & 3 the best too. :) #1 is nice, but she has too many shadows on her body and neck that take away from the feel of the shot.

Why worry about the reflection in her eyes... I'm guessing you are teasing... but IMO that makes the shot GREAT! I take it as a sign of sharpness and good light in the eyes. :)

I guess I was just used to seeing a nice square or round "catch-light" in the eyes and when I saw the level of detail in the reflection in her eyes I just wanted it to look "cleaner" somehow.

Kind of a "this" rather than "that" thing.

Personal perference maybe...? Or maybe environmental differences? I love natural light,so I love natural catchlights also. Sure, the circular catchlights are more clean.. but why not deviate from the norm and go for the "sparks". :)

If you burn the shadows on the outdoor portrait, in the relections, and on the outer edge of the iris, it will appear a little "cleaner". You can also dodge those highlights inside the iris some... :)

Or you can just clone in fake ones..... totally a personal thing IMO..

no... :( Did I say I have bad luck with electronics? yeah.... I hardly ever use my flash.. and I never have an extra $150 lying around to get it fixed.. so... It turns on, I just can't adjust the power amount after it turns on.. so i turn it on, dial it up or down while it makes a weird clicking sound.. and when I want a new setting.. I turn it off, and on again, and start the process all over.. lol..

someday I'll be an old lady and maybe then I'll have a fun money account for whatever i want... until then.... kiddos need a new pair of shoes, washer broke, oven broke, dryer broke... my poor hubby is turning into a DIY repair man.. thank goodness for the internet... makes it so much easier to try and fix things... lol...

hahaha.. it's a love-hate relationship.... lol. if I could wrap my neck around it and choke it.. I'd be a happy lady, until I realized that I could no longer do the things that I like without it...:lol:

It's all good, you like to explain yourself, nothing wrong with that. Poor old flash though :)

thanks, yes I'm walking (if that's what you want to call it :-P) I can move around nicely. just still don't have a lot of muscle in my left thigh yet so it looks quite shrunken compared to the other one. I'm getting close to being able to play vball once again. but this time with my knee brace...
