Unfortunately I was not able to get home this weekend. I was hoping to get out to the ostrich festival in Chandler, but I will be spending it in downtown Chicago watching the river getting dyed green and a St Patrick day parade.

Theres a message board specifically for Chicago folks and I will hopefully be able to find them at a meetup place by the river.

Should be fun.

Take care. I only get to stop by a minute or so per day...

Jason, love the glasses..

Passing this on....

It’s not every day you get to see a bit of Civil War history acted out live in the desert Southwest. In fact, it’s only during “Civil War in the Southwest,” a sprawling 1860s-style encampment in which costumed history buffs re-enact three Arizona and New Mexico Civil War skirmishes — the battles of Picacho Pass, Valverde (N.M.) and Glorietta Pass (N.M.).

More than 200 re-enactors also put on artillery and cavalry demonstrations on the battlefield and host a civilian village, where you’ll find a period church service, performances by a traveling theatrical troupe and costumed craftspeople showing off old-fashioned skills like spinning and bullet making.

Food and drink concessions are available, but you might want to bring your own water, a folding chair and plenty of sunscreen.

Yesterday Jen and I went to Tempe Beach Park for the Aloha Festival - WOW it was hot.
We decided to cool off in the shade. Today is the last day if anyone wants to check it out. Good food and live entertainment
