Currently:
1x ex430II
2x YN-560II

I'm planning to add another 2 to 6 YN-560II or III over the next two years, simply for optional flexibility of throwing a little light in a lot of small spaces to light a scene. I also want to have at least 4 portable large studio lights in the next few years.

May build my own studio light setup, just for the technical challenge, but I am very tempted to construct my own ultra high speed high voltage flash cell.

Is that equal to 2 x 580EX II? Or did you mean
1 x 580EX II
1 x 580EX?

:)

Sorry it is one of each . I will correct it.

3 x 600EX-RT

I'll probably add one or two more and that's it.

Just one, YN468II :(

I would like to get a 600EX RT, but it looks like it won't work off camera unless I buy the expensive Canon trigger.

Or any third party trigger. Those will work.

Well I had 5, but 3 crapped out on me so I'm down to 2 speedlights. I mostly just use one and a reflector.

I also have two modeling lights. But they're not really useful for photography, but are awesome for video.

The 600 EX-RT has a built-in wireless trigger, meaning you can use one to trigger as many more as you like. While it's true that you can't use a 3rd party wireless trigger with the 600EX-RT, you can still use corded triggers such as the PW Plus II or Plus III (but not the PW Flex triggers, unfortunately).

I have three of the 600EX-RT units and have just sold my ST-E3 trigger since I don't really need it
