RAW is the RAW data, correct? So, assume I set the Picture Style to whatever settings and shoot RAW. Now, when I import the CR2 files into LR, do you lose the Picture Style settings?

tonylong ...winded More info | Dec 01, 2010 22:35 | #2 Raw data is the straight data from the camera sensor after being run through the Analog/Digital processor with only some minimal "processing" without a Picture Style, White Balance or Sharpening applied. All those things are settings that Canon places in the file metadata as proprietary values. In other words, Canon software such as Digital Photo Professional can read the settings in a Raw file and use them as a "starting point" for you to begin your develping, but progams like Lightroom and Camera Raw (Photoshop) can not exept for some rudimentary "stabs" at things like White Balance.
