How does this program compare with LR3?
I'm sure others can answer that - I don't use LR.
But from observing the use of LR, I think it safe to say it has a wider range of features associated with creating a database-like assembly of images. And it is designed for a vastly wider range of lenses and bodies. C1 is primarily designed for their digital backs and they support DSLRs up to a point. LR really tries to be everything for everyone, and obviously have a huge following of highly skilled people.
You need to know what you are seeking? I seek the best possible RAW conversion as a primary goal, followed by "getting the color right" and that is subjective for me, then work flow, then features which matter - like, as I previously said, the ability to replicate tilt and shift lenses, to a high degree, with geometric shifts. I also find C1 is exceptional with my Zeiss primes in terms of pulling out all of the sharpness. I was underwhelmed when I tested a friend's LR2, though it was perfect for his uses.
Good luck!
