Well she was until I got the camera out ;) She's found a cosy spot to sleep in the pool cover.

My first photo post on here, all C&C welcome :) I just have a 350D and the kit lenses atm, but a long list of wants :D

Interesting shot! I love how the blue of her eyes is brought out by the pool cover.

Critiques - the second one seems to be a little over exposed - of the two, I prefer the first even though it's a bit dark. There isn't much detail in the darker fur in the first, but she looks like a different cat in the second one.

The closest blurry leaf is distracting and makes my eyes hurt - I know it's difficult to get a cat to pose, but next time try to remove the leaf or try cloning this one out and cropping a little closer.

The spot of light at the very end of the pool cover is overly bright and distracting - while I hate manipulating photographs, perhaps this is a good candidate to super burn that highlight or conceal with a copied fold from the right side.

All minor considerations - overall, cute pic :)

love how the cats eyes match the basket. and i agree, would have looked 100x better if u clean out all the junk in front of the cat and cloned out the bright light in the bg.

Thanks for the comments :)

Sorry I should have been clearer, the second shot is the one straight from the camera. I just put it so you could see the changes I made in PP.

I've only had Lightroom3 for a few days, but I'll go back and see if I can figure out what to do with the highlight spot - it annoyed me too  And point taken about the leaves - exactly why I'm here to learn stuff like this - thank you :D

I think I've done ok with the leaf removal ?! but the highlight at the back is beyond my current LR skills - it just looked awful when I tried :o
