I took over a hundred shots of this beautiful baby girl for a friend and got "TWO" good pictures out of it. I can do pictures outdoors and get lots of good pictures. But as soon as I step inside, my skill level takes a huge leap right out the window!

Practice makes perfect! Indoor shoots are all about lighting! The first one has great lighting on her face, but nothing in the background so she looks like she was photoshopped in. The second is cute but her face is so dark! Try playing with the lighting, the skin is really red too.

Did you use flash in the second photo?

Also, I happen to like the pure black backrounds. I dont think it looks "shopped".

You are right. I had copies printed today and they did turn out really dark. On my computer screen, they look so bright. The highlights almost look blown out. Definitely not what I get when printed. I am going to try redoing them . I did not use flash, it was natural lighting. Thanks so much for your input. Her mom wants to use them for Christmas cards so I really want to get it right.

Even the top shot is dark? It looks almost blown out on my monitor as well.
