Very Nice banking shot showing the underwing detail, a Bird a famous radio station here was named after WMMS 100.7 Home of the Buzzard.

Well, Stan, I probably needed a bath, but I believe that it was just cruising. It was about 75 yards upwind at the time. :D

Thanks for the comments, Dan. Very observant, you nailed the conditions -- it was flying low in a steeply banked turn in mid afternoon, so I got direct sunlight on the bottom of the wing with long shadows to accentuate the details.

I was driving across the pasture after giving up on seeing any songbirds around the stock tank when this "songbird" suddenly appeared. It was as rather long shot and handheld, so I am pleased that it turned out well.


There is a nearby restaurant called Buzzard Billy's, but with a name like that, I am not sure that I want to try them out. I really like the bird images in your gallery. The 600/4 lens that you used for many of the shots seems to be a really nice one for the 7D.
